CARDIOVASCULAR PHYSIOLOGY
 
 

Diagnostic or assessment studies are often carried out in healthy persons or those with a heart problem.  This department plays an important role in the prevention, assessment, follow-up and main diagnosis of coronary heart diseases.  The studies currently conducted are:

  • Electrocardiogram
  • Pacemaker analysis
  • Cardiovascular preventive programs with basic imaging and laboratory testing for the cardiovascular stratification of coronary risk
  • Stress testing (walker) or bicycle
  • Holter placement (24-48 hour electrocardiographic readings) for detecting arrhythmias and coronary problems
  • Ambulatory pressure monitoring
  • Inclination tests or of the inclined table for determining syncope (fainting)
  • Transthoracic, transesophageal, effort and pharmacological echocardiography
